Summer 2020
The North Bay is made up of all four northern counties above San Francisco: Marin, Sonoma, Napa, and Solano. Sausalito, San Rafael, and Marin are the gateway cities into the North Bay if you are headed north out of San Francisco. The Marin Civic Center is one of the largest North Bay event centers. More north, in Sonoma County, the Santa Rosa Luther Burbank Center is where to look for Hollywood headliners. In the City of San Rafael check for reasonable parking to travel via the new high-speed SMART train up to Sonoma County. The train currently takes you as north as Larkspur, but new northern stops are in the works. The rest of the North Bay must be traveled by car to visit the Sonoma Valley and Napa Valley Wine countries. The private and public transit is much more readily available for the bustling cities in Marin. While Napa has improved its public transit, private car, Lyft, Uber, and taxis are the methods to travel Napa County. To the southeast of the wine country regions is Solano County. Solano County is a mix of agro rural, city, and residential college settings. The North Bay has something for everyone.
